Job Description:

Judson College is seeking a Director of Facilities and Security.  This position is responsible for the overall management of the maintenance, grounds, custodial, and security functions of Judson College.  The Director of Facilities and Security is expected to provide a high level of service and support to the campus community and to be an effective member of the College’s management team.  This position reports to the Senior Vice President and Dean of the College and oversees a combined staff of approximately twenty-two. 



  • Maintain buildings in good operating condition.
  • Manage the in-house housekeeping function with high standards of service.
  • Provide effective grounds maintenance to maintain and enhance campus appearance.
  • Coordinate support of special events and functions.
  • Manage scheduling and coordination of summer housing of groups.
  • Plan and carry out capital projects and renovations.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for facilities and deferred maintenance.
  • Develop and monitor operating and capital budgets for this area.
  • Coordinate and monitor work order requests from students, faculty, and staff.
  • Oversee environmental management and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Responsible for campus security performed by uniformed on-campus security personnel, and maintain good working liaison with local law enforcement.
  • Recruiting, training and managing employees within the facilities and security area.
  • Respond to emergencies as a key member of the disaster response team.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum five years of direct experience in facilities management required.  Experience in a higher education setting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of facilities management, campus security, and campus aesthetics
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment including workplace safety, environmental management and building codes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Experience in budget preparation, fiscal management and project management.
  • The candidate must support the College’s strong commitment to Christian higher education.
