AAICU Approved for United Way 2011 CFC Campaign
12-Apr-2011
The Alabama Association of Independent Colleges and Universities was recently approved for the United Way 2011 CFC! The CFC’s mission is to support and promote philanthropy through voluntary programs that are employee-focused, cost-efficient and effective in providing all Federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. The CFC is the only authorized solicitation of employees in the Federal workplace on behalf of charitable organizations. It is one of the largest and most successful workplace fundraising models in the world. In order to participate in the CFC, organizations are required to demonstrate that they meet the eligibility and public accountability standards set forth in CFC regulations. This year is the CFC’s 50th anniversary and it will be AAICU’s third year to participate with other organizations like the Alabama Kidney Foundation, Boy Scouts of America, Montgomery Area Food Bank, Humane Society of Elmore County, Habitat for Humanity, and Wounded Warrior Family Foundation. Kickoffs are scheduled for September and will allow organizations to interact with the Federal community and potential donors. AAICU is proud to be involved in the campaign and looks forward to reaching out to Federal employees who are interested in supporting Alabama’s Independent Higher education and students in need.
