AAICU and Talladega College

Talladega College was founded in 1867 by two former slaves and is Alabama’s oldest, private, historically Black, liberal arts institution. Supported by the United Church of Christ, Talladega’s academic program reflects a strong belief that liberal arts education provide students with an appreciation of human endeavor and human values. Talladega has a proven track record of providing a solid foundation for its graduates. The College has been nationally ranked for its success in producing graduates who pursue post-baccalaureate degrees and professional certifications in their various occupations. The Princeton Review repeatedly names Talladega College among the” Best Colleges in the Southeastern Region.” W.E.B. DuBois wrote in his article published in a 1928 edition of The Crisis Magazine, “Talladega is today one of the best and best growing institutions of the south…” DuBois’ observation is as true in the 21st century, as it was in 1928. Talladega College is one of the best growing institutions of the south that continues to produce this nation’s greatest asset--future leaders.
