A four-year, private college affiliated with the United Methodist Church, BSC has long been a sheltering institution for Phi Beta Kappa. BSC’s new Explorations general education curriculum, which emphasizes what students will be able to do as a result of their education, is on the leading edge of where general education curricula are moving for the future. BSC has one of the most beautiful and student-friendly campuses in the nation. As a member of the NCAA Division III, the college offers 22 varsity sports for men and women. The college also has 13 national fraternity and sorority groups and many other activities that make for a well-rounded experience. Each year, more than 50 percent of the college’s graduates go on to graduate school at some of the nation’s most prestigious colleges and universities. BSC annually is No. 1 in Alabama and among the nation’s best in graduates admitted to medical, dental, and health care programs.
